Timeline of Events
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the necessity to reschedule the May 9, 2020 Goochland Day event, the Goochland Day committee and its parade committee is currently exploring a potential partnership and collaboration with Goochland County to combine this year’s Goochland Day event with the County’s 2020 Fall Festival. It is the Committee’s goal to hold ongoing Goochland Day events each Spring, moving forward.
GYAA - 2020 5K Field Of Dreams
$25
Our annual 5K will be held on Goochland Day, before the parade. The race will start and end at the Goochland High School parking lot. The cost to enter is $25 and all proceeds go to our GYAA Fields of Dreams. All 2020 registered softball/baseball players will run for free with their current jersey. The parade route is set-up to organize and get in line around Parrish Ford on Route 6 (River Road West), go up Route 6, have the judging station at Norman’s Funeral Home. The judging stand is built and sponsored by Blue Ridge Custom Homes. The parade continues up Route 6, turns right onto Dickenson Road, wraps around the YMCA, and ends at Reynolds Community College for disbursement of the parade group.
Activities

Many free and paid activities to support local Non Financial Public Sector (NFPs).
The train will be back, bounce houses, carnival games, mechanical bull, dunk tank, and many others!
There will be animal petting areas and plenty of free, fun family enjoyment!
Vendors and food

Many quality local businesses will be represented and will be offering their wares for purchase. Several food trucks will be offering up delicious meals and desserts for purchase!

Michelle Nixon and Slate River Unplugged will be performing towards the end of the day!
